What do yo think?

Thought I’d go with something a little different.

Pootler’s Design Team – July – Week 4

Good Morning Everyone

Over the last four weeks having seen what my fellow Pootler’s have designed I have discovered 2 step stamping. It isn’t something I have come across before. I bet lots of you have but I thought I would do myself a crib sheet to keep with the set so I don’t forget.

Orange Blossom Crib sheet

Week 4 is here so I thought I would have a change and do a white on white card, using as many of the stamps as possible, with no masking.

I cut an A6 piece of card and stamped the different elements all over then cut an inch wide opening for the sentiment. I like how the sentiments come in two parts enabling you to use one on the front and one on the inside of the card.

I hope you like my last project. For more information on the products used in this project click on the pictures below.

Enjoy your crafting.

Pootler’s Design Team – July – Week 3

Good Morning

Gosh I can’t believe we are already on Week 3. Where are the months going to. It always amazes me the older I get the faster the weeks go by. I can remember when at school how the summer holidays seemed to stretch on forever. Now I blink and they’re gone. Mind you they may go slower if I had little ones around. Having to find things for them to do for 6 weeks, and most things cost so much money these days.

One of the things I love to do with my niece during school holidays is spend a day crafting. She and my mum are just getting into stamping. It makes me smile how although they both have the same aim of creating, their approach is so different. My niece, young, lets her creativity flow and doesn’t worry about composition. My mum, more mature, thinks carefully about composition and gets agitated if it’s not working out as she thought. Me, I’m somewhere in the middle. Two hours later my niece has made 10 beautiful cards, mum and I, one or at best two equally beautiful cards.

Anyway enough of my ramblings.

For this weeks project I cut a small circle out of a post it note and using only two elements of the orange blossom stamp set I created a wreath. Again trying to create a Christmas themed card. I only used two ink pads, Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide. I created the tonal effect by using 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation ink. E.g. stamping on scrap once or twice before stamping on very vanilla card stock. For the sentiment I cut the Thank You (a lot) stamp in half. Please don’t shout at me.

My card base this time was made out of half an A4 sheet of Tranquil Tide with a mat of Fresh Fig card stock. For finishing touches, I again used enamel dots. I ran out of the red ones so had to use the green. At the base I wrapped the linen thread around the artwork several times finishing with a knot. I mounted the artwork on the mats and layers with dimensionals.

I do hope you like my Christmas themed Thank You card.

Pootler’s Design Team – July – Week 2

Hi there.

Thanks for stopping by.

One of the make and takes on our team retreat by Janice Thomson was making a Christmas card using the masking technique. Well my table buddies nor I had brought any Christmas stamps. So we needed to get our thinking caps on. Looking at the sets we did have available, I felt that the Orange Blossom set had lots of little stamps that could lend themselves to a Christmas wreath.

So this is how an every day occasion stamp set becomes a Christmas stamp set. I do like to get as much as I can out of a stamp set especially when I am short of pennies.

Here I’ve used Berry burst card stock as my base, then added a layer of lemon lime twist. I stamped several of the Orange blossom icons using tranquil tide, lemon lime twist and berry burst inks on very vanilla card stock. The sentiment is from Peace this Christmas stamp set which I borrowed from another table.Although you could use the Thank you sentiment from orange blossom perhaps for a gift you have been given. For finishing touches I used a felt bow and some enamel dots.

Well must dash. Talk again soon.
