Cards

I found it.

I don’t know about you but when I tidy my craft space I always come across stuff I have forgotten I have. A few weeks ago being off work poorly I had a little time on my hands, so I decided to sort out a box of stuff, not quite knowing what I would come across.

Well I found this beautiful die cut découpage sheet of a peony, by Anna Griffin. I must have had it since the late 90’s. It hadn’t faded or anything. So it was my Aunties birthday a few days later so I used it to make this lovely card for her.

God Daughter’s Birthday

This week saw us celebrating my youngest God daughter’s 10th birthday. Double figures WOW. Is it really 10 years since I saw this little bundle of joy enter the world.

Screenshot_2020-03-14-13-56-59

I felt so honoured and privileged to be her mum’s birthing partner. It was as close as I was going to get to having a child of my own. Her mum was amazing. So calm. So in control. No screaming. No shouting. No pain relief. I take my hat off to her. Absolutely amazing.

So decisions, decisions what stamp set to use for this sassy young lady’s birthday card. Looking through my stash there was only one choice, the new Best Dressed Suite

IMG_20200310_193154

So here I have used a 7×7 card blank, a matt of lovely lipstick cardstock and a full sheet of the 6×6 designer series paper. I die cut her name and age using a combination of the large letter, large number and hand lettered prose dies. The sentiment comes from the coordinating Dressed to impress stamp set. Stamped on whisper white cardstock and punched out using the Pretty label punch. To finish it all off I just had to use some wink of Stella. What girl doesn’t like a bit of glitz.

I hope you like it.

Pootles Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

pootlers blog hop

Is it really that time again, I do enjoy joining in with the team for the catalogue launch hop. Thanks for joining us. I do hope you enjoy and find inspiration from everyone’s creations.

I have recently been to mum’s and I don’t know why but I always seem to get more crafting done when I am there rather than at home. Maybe it’s the company or the fact that I have limited supplies. I took the painted poppies suite with me and even mum had a go as she loves die cutting. I used the catalogue for inspiration to get me started.

IMG_20200107_121552

Mum’s version she shaped the die cuts and I think some even look like pansies.

IMG_20200107_121700Well once we got going we didn’t stop. I do hope you find inspiration from our creations.

Groovi parchment · Mother's Day

Mother’s Love

Just a quick post today. Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in the UK, and I have been lucky to spend part of it with my beautiful mum.

There is nothing like a mother’s love. Here is the card I made her. I hope you like it.

I used thick white card for my base, a sheet of vellum, a couple of clarity groovi plates and coloured in sections using stamp and write markers.

Card Challenge

Hi, is anyone up for a challenge?

Well mum and I were having a natter over Christmas as you do, and she expressed how she was disappointed that she hadn’t made many Christmas Cards. She had had to go and buy some as she had run out of time to make her own. So after some discussion we came up with a challenge for ourselves.

Our challenge is to make 5 Christmas cards a month, so come December we will each have 60 cards to send. To make the decision process easier we would make the cards the same design each month. Eg. 5 cards one design. We all know what it’s like when we have lots of gorgeous papers, stamps and embellishments in front of us. We spend more time deciding what to use than we do making the cards. Well if you are anything like me you do. So why not join mum and I in our #5christmascardsamonthchallenge

Here is my January design. A little late I know.

IMG_20190224_132536

I used thick whisper white for my card base, then layering white and the tufted embossing folder. To make the wreath I used the starburst punch and did a bit of spirelli with the copper thread. To finish I heat embossed a Merry Christmas with copper embossing powder, and used the classic label punch to punch it out. All it needed then was a pop of colour and a wreath wouldn’t be a wreath without a bow right.

Hey presto only another 55 to go. Roll on December when I can send them out.

Talk again soon

Beautiful You!

Morning

I did enjoy my crafty time on Saturday. I decided to have a play with the Beautiful You stamp set. I thought I would do some paper piecing, it can be a bit fiddley but I’m not good at colouring in, and I have plenty of pretty papers.

I managed to find a K & Company 6 x 6 pad that I’ve had for years, and I thought this paper looked so fresh, just right for the lovely weather we have been having.

I do hope you like it.

See you Thursday .

Mum’s Birthday Part 2

Happy Sunday Everyone.

What’s everyone up to today? Are you having a good weekend. I spent the day painting yesterday. I’m decorating the back bedroom and making myself a crafty corner so I don’t have to craft on the dining room table any more. I did manage to have a play with some new stamp sets and paper in between coats of paint. I’ll show you what I made in the week.

Back to mum’s birthday. As I said I was down at mum’s for her birthday. We all love spending time with ours mum’s don’t we. Well my mum’s sister was there too and she isn’t a crafter and trys to avoid it like the plague, but I was determined to get her crafting. Well I was playing with the Share What you love paper pack and she was admiring the beautiful patterns. “Come on show me your favourite and we’ll make a simple gift bag” says I. So she picked one and we made a little gift bag with a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper following a pootles you tube video. She even managed some stamping.  Here is her make.

You could see from the look on her face how proud she was. She has always said how she can’t do crafting as she isn’t crafty. I have always said it’s like baking a cake. Follow a recipe and anyone can do it. Well later that day she had bought mum a big box of Milk Tray and we couldn’t find any wrapping paper so we made a box for the chocolate out of the paper and some white card. A first for me as I have never designed a box from scratch I’ve always followed someone elses recipe. Now I was the one to feel chuffed.

I hope you like today’s makes.

Mum’s Birthday

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend. It was my mum’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. So I couldn’t let the occasion pass without making her a card could I.

I was down visiting her at the time and didn’t have all of my Stampin’ Up supplies with me but I had taken my “Share what you love” bundle, as I knew she would just love the paper as she loves her garden.

2craftwithJK - Mum's birthday.jpg

I used a strip of the designer series paper, to be honest it’s more like card. One of the pearlized doilies which are just beautiful. The stitched circle to frame my stamping, and some copper thread. With a finishing touch with a few pearls.

I do hope you like it.

Talk soon.

What do yo think?
